Goodbye Evel

An American Original has died. Evel Knievel passed Friday, age 69. I remember watching him jump the Snake River Canyon on ABC Sports when I was a kid. I got the wind-up motorcycle for X-mas one year. I made my Dad get up at 6 am to let me open the present and then pissed off my brothers and sisters by revving that thing across the kitchen floor all morning. The end of an era.

I had that same wind up bike. I remember jumping it over piles of burning leafs on the sidewalk and having his polyester jumpsuit melt from it. Evel Knievel was a legend.

The Snake River jump was only on pay-per-view.
