The Shanty Ride went off well. Holy Crap, it wasn't even that cold. At least until we got onto Medicine Lake. Then it was colder than all get out. So we went in. To the Norae Karaoke shanty. It was a popular venue, usually SRO. Initially, I was relegated to looking (lurking?) in the window. (see pic). GeneO, Baby Was a Star, (yes, he was.) Me? I "sang" Glen Danzig's paean to Mothers everywhere.
On the ride home I took a high-speed auger and skidding on the top of my head for about 15 feet. I clearly remember thinking, "damn, I bet this looks cool!" Later, I hear from The Butcher that it was his Kung Fu remount from his own crash that kicked me off course. Nice. All this is a long way of telling you that tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. I am boarding a plane and flying to Tucson, AZ for Single Speed Arizona. I reckon it will be 75° to 80° down there, which should be plenty enough to make me forget the -37° Stupor Bowl Death March. Good God, y'all....
